3. Turn your musical worries into an asset in the form of a motivating force. I used to get frustrated when I was trying to learn how to play guitar. I would use this annoyance to motivate me to play the next day and then the next day and then all afternoon sometimes.

4. Believe in yourself. You've most likely heard that phrase many times before. It's sad how many folks don't believe in their beliefs or themselves. If you don't believe in yourself, you may not grow as a guitarist.

5. Recognize that becoming a better guitarist means becoming a better musician too. When building your musical skills, make sure to think beyond the abilities that are specific to guitar.

Don't neglect other skills that are not guitar specific like ear training (also referred to as aural skills), songwriting, improvising, creativeness, reading, music theory, etc.

Each of us has some natural capability of some sort. You may already know what yours is or you might not yet have discovered it. If being a better musician is not coming easy for you that simply means you are like the rest of us.
